Advanced Senior Manufacturing / Process Engineer (Manufacturing & Assembly)

Responsibilities include:

• Process development and assembly sequencing (process flow chart) for new programs

• Manufacture feasibility analysis (DFA/DFM) and PFMEA on new products

• Establish plant and process layout for new products and processes

• Perform computer simulations of manufacturing operations

• Perform cost analysis of product and process alternatives (investments and assembly time)

• Write process specifications and make recommendations regarding ergonomic improvements

• Write specifications for manufacturing equipment and make recommendations for equipment procurement

• Simulate continuous improvement process in plants (KAIZEN, DO IT) with the objective of MEQ

• Work with SD-Teams to complete product launches

• Monitor assembly equipment through production start-up and through collaboration with maintenance dept., equipment suppliers and global ME, establish solutions to any processing issues

• Stimulate TPM in new projects

• Monitor and audit manufacturing best practices and standards in the plant

• Calculate MBOMs for new products and work with SD- Team in the loading of MBOMS into MMS.

• Conduct MBOM audits of parts in series production

• Improvement strategies: Participate and/or lead activities for manufacturing footprint analysis, continuous improvement of new and/or ongoing manufacturing process and lean manufacturing implementation

• Standardize and implement manufacturing tool box

• Understand and conform to Quality System requirements specific to process engineering

Qualification / Experience:

• Degree/Diploma in Engineering (mechanical or industrial)

• 4 - 6 years minimum experience as a Manufacturing or Industrial Engineer

• OEM or Tier One automotive seating or interior trim work experience

• High volume automotive manufacturing engineering work experience

Core knowledge/ skills:

• Strong computer and manufacturing simulation skills

• JCMS/ Lean manufacturing

• Plastics Process and Equipment

• Plant Layout using AUTO CAD

• Equipment selection, purchasing and installation
